The Hungarian Association of British Alumni (HABA), founded in 1995, is a non-profit organization open to former British Scholarship holders and all experts who have been in contact in some way with the UK in the field of education, science or arts.
Members come from a wide variety of professional backgrounds; from oil and gas industry to banking, technology, marketing and law, public administration and design industry.
The aim of the association is to help keep former scholars in touch with each other, in touch with the British Embassy and the British Council, and to encourage lasting engagement with the UK.
They cooperate with other Alumni Organisations, such as the Hungarian Alumni Association of College of Europe, IVY Plus, the Alumni of American Embassy, and the Cambridge and Oxford Society.
Cambridge–Oxford Alumni Club of Hungary
The idea of the Cambridge–Oxford Alumni Club of Hungary was conceived in the famous Centrál Kávéház in December 2017. Founded by Hungarian alumni of both universities, the Club aims to provide an international platform where alumni of Cambridge and Oxford of all generations can meet, exchange ideas and create new friendships. The Club focuses on building ties between Hungary and the United Kingdom with a particular focus on Cambridge and Oxford, as well as on promoting interaction among our members.
The club's events are taking place from September 2018 in both Hungary and the UK. While most of these gatherings are organised in Budapest and London, they are planning to host reunions in Oxford and Cambridge as well. The Club welcomes alumni of the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford and they are delighted if current students join as visitors during their events.
Their Patrons are Their Excellencies the Hungarian Ambassador to the Court of St James’s and HM Ambassador to Hungary.
