Our Policy

If a child is under 11 years of age, they must be dropped off and picked up by a responsible adult.

If a child is over 11 years of age and does not have parental permission to leave unattended, they must be dropped off and picked up by a responsible adult.

If a child is over 11 years of age and has parental permission to leave unattended, they may arrive and leave without a responsible adult.

Before class:

We will send you a form to complete that asks you to specify whether your child has your permission to leave unattended or not. Please ensure that you complete and return this form to us before the first class. Until we receive this form we will not allow any child, regardless of their age, to leave unattended.

First day of class:

A member of staff will visit the class to verify information about your child and might also contact you.

On arrival:

  • All students will be met inside the entrance of the building and directed to the classrooms by our childcare team.
  • Parents will only be permitted to accompany children into the building on the first day.

On leaving:

  • Students will make their way to the front entrance. The childcare team will check if students are allowed to leave by themselves.
  • Parents will only be permitted to pick children up from outside their classroom on the first day.

Primary waiting room

If your child is attending a primary class and they have a sibling in a secondary class, we have a room where the primary student can wait for half an hour until the secondary class ends. This room is monitored by a member of the childcare team.
