5-HOUR FREE DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS OF ENGLISH
This workshop focuses on how bringing creativity into the language lessons can enhance the potential for effective language development in the primary English language classroom.
Workshop trainer: Zsuzsa Kuti, ELT consultant, teacher trainer, currently working at OFI
We will discuss the key factors of creativity and explore how teachers can create the optimum conditions for creativity in their own classrooms. In doing so, we will try out and reflect on a number of classroom activities which can be used with young learners of different ages and levels. We will observe how creativity can arise from different sources for example, visuals, movements, ideas, problems etc.
While this workshop focuses more on the age group of 5 to 12-year-old learners, the second part on 21 March will look at the same issue from the point of view of literacy development and will deal with creative literacy development for 8 to 14-year-old learners.
Part 1 | 10.00-11.30 | What is creativity? How to create the optimum conditions for creativity in the English language classroom? |
Part 2 | 11.45-13.15 | Practical ideas for the young learners’ language lessons to enhance creativity |
Part 3 | 14.00-14.45 | My creative classroom: task design and reflection |
